Showing only 2,222 miles; thoguht to have been built in Portugal; used
on private villa in Spain until coming to the UK in 2017; been in storage for
some time; runs and drives
A particularly appealing
1987 Austin Mini Moke, showing just 2,222 miles, and believed to have been built
by Austin Rover Portugal. This seems to be supported by the chassis number and
period production history - Mini Moke production was transferred to Portugal in
the early 1980s and continued there under Austin Rover until 1989.
We are told it was originally supplied for use
at a private villa in Spain and the Moke remained there until being brought to
the UK and registered in 2017. It has subsequently seen very little use and has
spent periods in storage.
The car is finished in
white with black interior trimmed in red piping, a black folding hood and
tubular roll bar. Minilite-style replica alloy wheels have been fitted, giving
the Moke a slightly more contemporary appearance while retaining its
characteristic open-sided configuration.
The
speedometer currently reads 2,222 miles, with the most recent MOT recorded at
2,221 miles. While the very low reading is consistent with the vehicle's
reported history, it should be regarded as showing mileage rather than verified
total mileage.
After spending relatively little
time on the road since 2019, the Moke has been recommissioned and is reported to
start, run and drive with the MOT recorded until October
2027.
An unusually low-mileage, Portuguese-built
Moke with an interesting period in Spain and remarkably little subsequent UK
use.
