The Volkswagen Bay Window
Camper remains one of the world's most iconic classic campers, combining
timeless styling with practicality and a loyal enthusiast following. Equally at
home on weekends away, classic shows or summer road trips, they continue to be
highly sought after.
First registered in March
1973, this Bay Window Camper is powered by the 1,600cc air-cooled engine paired
with a four-speed manual gearbox. Finished in an attractive green and white
colour scheme, it has had 20 former keepers and has been with the current owner
since June 2025. The odometer shows 99,348 miles, although this cannot be
verified.
The camper features a pop-up
roof, updated front seats, a sink and cooker, and appears to offer two-berth
accommodation, making it well suited to weekends away and classic camping
adventures.
The vendor advises the
Volkswagen starts, runs and drives as you would expect and it was demonstrated
on site during photography.
A charming and usable example
of the ever-popular Bay Window Camper, ready to be enjoyed by its next
owner.
